Finally, the Paris based Xavier Gassemann aka Don Rimini dropped his latest release called “Chicago House Opera EP” on the also Parisian Booty Call Records. After several remixes for the likes of Moonbootica, Sirkus Sirkuz or Blatta & Inesha he is back with an homage to the Chicago House genre, which is exactly what I want to hear right now and producers out there, get back to this sound! Anyway, Xavier made three originals for this package – Dance To Chicago, Do U Wanna F and Non Stop. All three reduced to the essentials of the roots of house music. This is just dope guys, if you haven’t noticed it already – I’m really hyped!
2. Don Rimini – Do U Wanna F
3. Don Rimini – Non Stop
4. Don Rimini – Dance To Chicago (Dj Lil’Tal Ghetto Mental Mix)
5. Don Rimini – Do U Wanna F (RYME Get Da Fuk Bak Remix)
6. Don Rimini – Dance To Chicago (Chambray Remix)
Remix support comes from two names who are also dedicated to ghetto/chicago house music. Let’s start with one of my recent favourites, Chambray. The Berlin based, who also relesead some really really massive tunes on GND Records and Ultramajic turned the original Dance To Chicago into a more intense experience with his distinctively own sound. While the two guys behind RYME, the collab between the Canadians Rynecologist and Meech grabbed Do U Wanna F which would bring any footworker in a state of emergency. The last one is the Chicago based DJ Lil’Tal who’s one of the Dance Mania veterans and yeah there is nothing more to say!!
This EP is huge and you definitely should support this. The “Chicago House Opera EP” is out since today and can be purchased here: iTunes, Beatport, Junodownload, Deezer or Spotify. Enjoy!
