Jean-Baptiste de Laubier aka Para One released his third long player after his breakthrough debut LP in 2004 with “Epiphanie” on Institubes (bless you), 2012 with “Passion” on Marble and finally with Club, which is out now on Because Music & Marble.
“The Passion-album is the background for this, as I decided to reshape it for my live act, explains Para One. I’ve rebuilt the tracks entirely, making live versions for festivals and bigger clubs. Then I found myself with a totally different album. It’s not a live album. The tracks have been modified and reinterpreted. Subtlety was not really an option, it had to hit kind of hard. The tracks had to sound real in a club situation and people are now meant to dance to them! It’s also a ‘treasure hunt’ kind of record with many references. It sounds like my DJ sets, when I mix many things and styles, old and new, because that’s how a club should sound. It’s a place where memories belong.”
Truly an audible progression of sound if you compare the submittal “Passion” with the “Club” LP. Which was beyond doubt amazing but let me explain this with an example – let’s take Albatros, which has more an experimental sound back in 2012 with a great flow, inspiring stuff. And listen to Albatros now, really club-orientated but still with this peacefull-jam. He also got some support from Teki Latex, Surkin and Jaw, who feature Lean on Me, Compute and When The Night. Especially the track with Surkin, you’ve might heared it so many times, only for the good reasons! From track number one to eleven, constantly on a remarkable high-level of sound.
